The city attorney shall act as the legal advisor to the mayor and members of the city council and other city officers, departments, commissions and agencies. He shall meet with and advise the city council at its regular meetings and he shall prepare ordinances, resolutions, contracts and all other legal documents. He shall also perform all other legal duties connected and associated with the normal operation of the municipal government. In addition to the above duties, the city attorney shall prosecute all violations of city ordinances and all violations of state statutes classed as misdemeanors that occur within the city.

Must be a qualified elector. Must be a U. S. citizen. Must be an Arkansas resident. Must live in jurisdiction to be represented at time of filing and throughout term A.C.A.. Must be lawfully registered to vote. Must never have been convicted of embezzlement of public money, bribery, forgery, or other infamous crime.
